Soft, pillowy red velvet cinnamon rolls swirled with sweet cinnamon and topped with a creamy cream cheese frosting.

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 23 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, yeast, and salt. Stir in warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla; mix until a dough forms. Knead until smooth.
  2. Let the Dough Rise: Let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  3. Roll Out the Dough: Roll out the dough on a floured surface. Spread softened butter on top, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll tightly and cut into rolls.
  4. Second Rise: Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Prepare the Frosting: For the frosting, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  7. Drizzle and Enjoy!: Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls and enjoy!
