Deliciously moist red velvet cupcakes with tangy cream cheese frosting, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder in a bowl.
  3. Mix the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and white vinegar in another bowl.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with batter.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let them cool completely before frosting with cream cheese frosting.

Notes

Store leftover cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Unfrosted cupcakes can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
