A comforting dish of savory ground beef patties smothered in rich mushroom gravy, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup

Instructions

  1. Mix the Patty Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into oval patties.
  2. Sear the Patties: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on both sides.
  3. Remove the patties and set aside. In the same skillet, add the mushrooms and sauté until softened.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir to coat. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring until the mixture thickens.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
  6. Stir in ketchup before serving. Enjoy with mashed potatoes or your favorite side.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. Don’t rush the browning of the patties to enhance flavor.
