A comforting and easy-to-make casserole featuring fluffy eggs, savory sausage, and gooey cheese over toasted bread cubes, perfect for gatherings.

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups cubed bread
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Sauté the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and crispy.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder in a large bowl.
  4. Layer a generous amount of cubed bread in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Add the cooked sausage over the bread layer.
  6. Combine everything by pouring the egg mixture over the sausage and bread, and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes until set and golden.
  8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Can be prepared the night before and stored in the fridge. Great with fresh fruit or crispy bacon.
