Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add spaghetti or linguine, and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a splash of pasta water.
  2. Heat the butter and olive oil: In a skillet, combine unsalted butter and olive oil over medium heat until butter melts.
  3. Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes: Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, cooking until fragrant.
  4. Cook the shrimp: Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  5. Add wine and lemon juice: Stir in white wine and lemon juice, allowing to bubble and reduce for about 2 minutes.
  6. Toss with pasta and parsley: Mix cooked pasta and parsley with the shrimp mixture, adding reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges, serving immediately.
