A comforting skillet dish featuring penne pasta, smoked sausage, and a creamy garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb smoked sausage
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat with melted butter, browning for about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the garlic, smoked paprika, and optional red pepper flakes, cooking for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Add the chicken broth and simmer for about 3–4 minutes.
  5. Reduce the heat and mix in the heavy cream and Parmesan until creamy.
  6. Toss the cooked penne pasta with the sauce, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For freezing, store for up to two months.
