A comforting and flavorful dish combining tender flank steak and jasmine rice coated in a sticky honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the Jasmine Rice. Rinse jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Cook the Rice. Combine the rinsed jasmine rice with 2 cups of water in a saucepan; bring it to a boil, reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Season the Flank Steak. Season the flank steak generously with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
  4. Sear the Steak. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the seasoned steak for 4-5 minutes on each side, then remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  5. Sauté Garlic. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic to the skillet; sauté until fragrant.
  6. Create the Sticky Sauce. Stir in the honey and soy sauce, cooking until slightly thickened.
  7. Toss the Steak. Slice the rested steak against the grain and toss it in the sticky garlic sauce.
  8. Serve Over Rice. Serve the glazed steak slices over fluffed jasmine rice. Garnish with fresh green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or substitute honey with maple syrup. Pair with cucumber salad or steamed broccoli.
