  • 1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until it’s perfectly al dente.
  2. Sauté the Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until it’s browned and cooked through.
  3. Drain excess fat from the skillet to keep the dish from becoming too greasy.
  4. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Stir in honey and let it bubble for about a minute.
  6. Combine the cooked penne with sausage, stirring in grated Parmesan and chopped parsley.
  7. Season with salt, pepper, and optional crushed red pepper flakes, then serve warm.

Notes

Use high-quality sausage for best flavor. Be careful not to overcook garlic to avoid bitterness. Fresh parsley adds brightness to the dish.
