A delightful pastry filled with fresh strawberries, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and flaky texture.

  • 1 package of puff pastry
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry until it’s about 1/8 inch thick and cut into 4-inch squares.
  3. Mix the sliced strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Place a spoonful of the strawberry mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to form a shape of your choice.
  6. Brush the tops of the folded pastries with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool the pastries slightly on a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Keep your dough cold for flakiness. You can substitute strawberries with other fruits or add cream cheese for variation.
