A classic summer dessert featuring fluffy biscuits layered with sweet strawberries and whipped cream.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for strawberries)
  • Whipped cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream until just combined.
  5. Knead the dough gently on a floured surface and cut into biscuits.
  6. Bake the biscuits on a baking sheet for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Mix sliced strawberries with sugar and let sit for 10 minutes.
  8. Assemble by splitting the biscuits, layering with strawberries and whipped cream, and topping with another biscuit.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh, pairs well with vanilla ice cream.
