A delightful homemade bread filled with fragrant garlic, mixed herbs, and gooey melted cheese, perfect for sharing and enjoying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon mixed herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, and oregano)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (like mozzarella or cheddar)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cover the dough and let rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread minced garlic and mixed herbs over the surface. Sprinkle cheese evenly.
  5. Roll the dough tightly into a log and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

Store any leftover bread in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. For longer storage, slice the bread and freeze it.
