  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a large baking sheet.
  3. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Combine unsalted butter, water, and cocoa powder in a saucepan, bring to a boil.
  5. Mix the warm cocoa mixture into the dry ingredients.
  6. Blend the eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  7. Combine the wet mixture into the chocolate batter.
  8. Bake the batter in the prepared baking sheet for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Cool completely in the pan.
