A flavorful vegan alternative to sausage made from firm tofu, perfect for various dishes such as pizza, lasagna, and calzones.

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture.
  2. Crumble the tofu into small pieces.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Sauté the crumbled tofu for about 5 minutes.
  5. Season the tofu with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  7. Serve as desired.

Notes

Feel free to customize the spices or add nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
