A delightful and moist cake soaked in a rich mixture of three types of milk, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for whipping cream)
  • Sugar for whipped cream (to taste)
  • Fresh fruit for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Set this mixture aside.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well, and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Beat until combined, ensuring no lumps remain.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. While the cake is baking, combine the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy cream in a bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  7. Once the cake is done, let it cool for about 10 minutes. Poke holes all over the top with a fork or skewer.
  8. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the warm cake, ensuring every hole is filled.
  9. Let the cake cool completely in the fridge for at least 4 hours, or ideally overnight.
  10. Before serving, whip the heavy cream with a bit of vanilla extract and sugar until soft peaks form.

Notes

Cake is best enjoyed chilled. Can be customized with fruits or toppings.
