A classic Reuben sandwich made with savory corned beef, crispy rye bread, melty Swiss cheese, and tangy sauerkraut.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of rye bread
  • 4 ounces of corned beef
  • 2 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup of sauerkraut
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Optional: Thousand Island dressing

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of rye bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer with corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and optional Thousand Island dressing.
  5. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  6. Grill the sandwich until golden brown and cheese is melty, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.

Notes

Pair with potato chips, dill pickles, or a bowl of creamy tomato soup for a perfect meal.
