Delicious vegan dumplings with a golden, crispy exterior and a flavorful vegetable filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water (plus more if needed)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup finely chopped vegetables (carrots, cabbage, mushrooms, etc.)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder

Instructions

  1. Mix the Dough: In a bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually stir in the water and vegetable oil until the mixture begins to come together. Knead the dough until it’s smooth and pliable.
  2. Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick. Using a round cutter (or a glass), cut out circles of dough.
  3. Prepare the Filling: In another bowl, mix together the finely chopped vegetables, soy sauce, garlic powder, and ginger powder until well combined.
  4. Fill the Dumplings: Place a spoonful of the vegetable filling in the center of each dough circle. Be careful not to overfill!
  5. Shape the Dumplings: Fold the circle in half, enclosing the filling, and pinch the edges to seal them tightly.
  6. Prepare for Baking: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and arrange the dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake to Perfection: Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the dumplings are golden brown and crisp.
  8. Serve with Love: Enjoy your dumplings hot, paired with a delicious dipping sauce like soy sauce, chili oil, or a tangy vinegar dip!
