A delicious and satisfying plant-based twist on the classic BLT, featuring crispy marinated tofu and fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu
  • 1 tablespoon smoky seasoning or smoked paprika
  • 2 slices bread (your choice)
  • 2 leaves lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegan mayo
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then slice into strips.
  2. Marinate the tofu strips in smoky seasoning for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the marinated tofu until crispy on both sides.
  4. Toast your bread slices to perfection.
  5. Spread vegan mayo on one side of each toasted bread slice.
  6. Layer the crispy tofu, followed by lettuce and tomato slices on one slice of bread.
  7. Top with the other slice of bread, mayo side down.
  8. Slice the sandwich in half and serve immediately.

Notes

Store any leftover ingredients in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. Assemble the sandwich just before serving to maintain its crispiness.
